Meet Our Team
 Peg J. Johnston, the founding partner of BALTD., has been doing business brokerage full time since January 1983. As the former owner of an electrical contracting firm, Peg understands personally the complexities of purchasing, operating and selling a business. Business brokerage is a passion for Peg, helping business owners and potential purchasers clarify and meet their needs. Peg is a Certified Business Intermediary (CBI), a memberof IBBA, CABI, TEC Assoc., WPO, and NAWBO. She earned a BA and Cum Laude with Honors and Distinction in Mathematics from Colby College, in Waterville Maine. The Denver Business Journal and NAWBO recognized Peg, August 2002, as one of ten “Outstanding Women in Business” and the winner of the “Jean Yancey Small Business Award.”
Active in the community, Peg has served on numerous Boards - NAWBO, CWLC, Women’s Equity Fund, Boy Scouts of America-Explorers, Rotary Int’l District 5450, Denver Rotary Club, Arapahoe Community College, Community Resources, Inc., Denver Athletic Club, and is a mentor for Denver Kids, Inc. In January 2003, Peg will serve with the Board of Directors for Women’s Business Research, located in Washington, DC.
 Gary D. Williams,CBI, has been a Business Intermediary since 1987 specializing in the sale of business to business companies (manufacturing, distribution and business services) valued at one million dollars and above. He received his Mechanical Engineering degree with honors from Virginia Tech and he also holds an MBA with an emphasis in finance from the University of Colorado at Denver. Gary's prior work experience includes positions with Ingersoll Rand in their Gas Compressor Division before becoming the Western Division Manager of Tidewater Compression Services. He earned his Certified Business Intermediary designation from the International Business Brokers Association and he is a member of the M & A Source and the Colorado Association of Business Intermediaries. Gary and his wife, Pat, have owned several businesses which give him a unique insight into the buying and selling process. He is active in a variety of community organizations including Rotary where he served as Past President of the Denver Cherry Creek Rotary Club. Gary is recognized as an expert witness in the areas of business sales, acquisitions and valuations and he has spoken to a variety of organizations on these topics.
 Kevin B. Waide, brings to Business Acquisitions, Ltd. a wide array of professional business experience and expertise.
Prior to joining Business Acquisitions, Ltd., Kevin was a Business Development Director for one of the largest public accounting firms in the Denver area. One of Kevin's primary responsibilities was to assist companies in understanding their financial condition through business analyses and evaluations. Under his direction and business expertise, the firm became the second largest practice, nationally, in a network of over three hundred offices.
Before working directly in the accounting profession, Kevin spent fourteen years in the investment banking business, holding titles of Vice-President and Director of Corporate Finance. During this time, he was responsible for structuring and syndicating initial public offerings (IPO's) and Limited Partnership investments as well as managing the personal investments of numerous clients.
Currently, he serves as an advisor to two publicly-traded companies. His combined background in accounting, marketing and corporate finance brings a unique blend of talent to Business Acquisitions, Ltd.
 Ryan D. Plemmons, CPA,CBI, is a Colorado native and University of Colorado, Boulder graduate with over fifteen years of diverse professional experience including mergers and acquisitions, valuation, financial consulting, financial analysis, auditing, sales, and management with a strong combination of public consulting and private sector experiences. Ryan has a passion for business brokerage and his background includes a wide array of projects including business valuations, due diligence, financial modeling and forecasting, strategic planning, ratio and trend analysis, feasibility studies, and solvency/bankruptcy analysis. His industry experience includes manufacturing, distribution, business services, energy, retail, construction, hospitality, medical, and high-tech companies.
 James J. Johnston, grew up in Denver attending Kent Denver School and graduated from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. Jim worked in the field of education for eleven years, teaching middle and high school students in places as diverse as the Czech Republic, New Hampshire and El Salvador, and serving as the Associate Director of Admission at Mercersburg Academy (Penn.) working in a marketing and sales capacity. Since then, he returned to the Front Range and spent a year working for a manufacturing company. He is a certified user of Geographic Information Systems and also a capable database consultant. Jim’s varied professional experiences all have in common working with diverse cliental with an emphasis on marketing and negotiation. His strengths in providing people with quality service and sincerity fit well at Business Acquisitions, Ltd. Jim is an active member with the Colorado Environmental Coalition, and is in constant pursuit of another game of squash, soccer or golf, or going telemark skiing if the season permits.
